Energy Transactions
The firm handles all phases of acquisitions and divestitures of producing properties in transactions of all sizes. We assist our clients with the due diligence necessary to conclude a sale by reviewing existing leases, title issues, operating agreements, joint ventures, concessions, farmouts, areas of mutual interests and other instruments and documents as required for each transaction. We represent operators as well as non-operators in preparing and interpreting participation agreements and operating agreements.

Title Examination
Looper Reed & McGraw’s Energy title examination team includes a strong core group of experienced oil and gas lawyers who have a wealth of experience in the examination of title and preparation of title opinions for drilling, division orders, financing transactions, and acquisitions. The firm currently employ 21 attorneys who primarily focus their work on title examination for onshore properties in Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, and other oil and gas producing states, as well as offshore properties in both state and federal waters off Louisiana and Texas. Properties examined range from urban shale plays with units involving hundreds of town lots to more traditional title examination in rural areas including both exploratory plays and complex secondary recovery units.
